Corner Television Stands
It used to be that a corner television stand was a triangular
little table that fit into the corner of any room and you would use it either for your television or to put a
couple of pictures so the neighbors could see them. Today they are made in many styles and designed to fit
different size televisions on them. They are designed according to the televisions weight and not really the
size.
A very nice model I have recently seen is made completely of
glass with the exception of the support columns that are made of stainless steel. It has two separate compartments
under the table where the glasses can be moved to make the compartments smaller or larger. These compartments are
for you to install your DVD equipment and or your game console, anything you like but they are very elegant and
practical. This particular model had the angular corners to fit in to the corner, but it did not go all the way to
the walls, a triangular space was left between the corner and the edge of the stand.
They are made of different materials conglomerate and plywood
being the most common because wood is expensive now. Many of these stands are made oversees and they use strange
woods and conglomerates for the furniture they make so care must be taken when choosing whatever you buy. It is
better to buy something made in the United States, even if you have to pay a little more than something made of
plywood or conglomerate that may break. A combination of metal with glass, like the one mentioned above is great
and very sturdy, it will last forever.
When you decide in which corner you want to set the television
in, make sure that it fits and that it is not going to be in the way of people walking by or whatever. In fact the
first thing to do is make sure that others will not be walking in front of the television set while you are
watching it. When you buy the stand make sure that it is high enough for you to sit comfortably on the couch and
your eyes are level with the television screen. If you have to look up at the TV your neck will hurt, if you have
to look down it will hurt too. Your eyes must be level with the seta and out of the way and circulation
routes.
A classical wooden corner stand will be perfect for any room in
the house. A medium tan or light brown would be a color that will match with most anything in your room. This
includes other furniture, the paint on the walls and any pictures or paintings you have too. Both of these are
standard colors. It is up to you if you decide to buy it with doors or open shelves or a combination of doors with
glass panes on them.
Corner television stands are also made to be installed in the
air. This means that they are put in the high corner of a room where they are not in the way and they can be seen
from any angle of the room. These do not have drawers they are flat and only hold the television
set.
